Entry #6, Before the Gummy Hits

As the title suggests, we're on a bit of a time limit here, so I'm going to keep this one relatively short.

Per usual, I feel both exhausted and as if I haven't done nearly enough, in life but especially in writing. I've barely touched my work this week; I added maybe as many as four pages to my new short story, "Hope Valley," since last we talked, though I'm too ashamed to verify if it was even that much.

I did finish the second book in Glen Cook's Garrett P.I. series. I find it (even) better than the first, and I'm starting to see a stylistic correlation between it and Cook's most famous series, The Black Company, which he started about the same time. The action is fast, the plot is convoluted, the stakes get higher and higher, and the characters bandy some of the best quips you'll read this side of the postmodern era. I loved it.

Another love: the newest season of Party Down. I won't spoil anything, except to say that the series has not lost a bit of its bite in the 17 years since its last season. Do yourself a favor if you're into sharp workplace comedies and watch it.

Alright, I'm starting to feel all of my hair follicles vibrate, which means it's time to end this one. May your week be as satisfying and peaceful as my night's about to be.

And until next time…

All Best, Always

Entry #4, Cabin Fever

The Braves look like they're on the cusp of being eliminated and the Falcons are suddenly an offensive juggernaut. Life comes at you fast, doesn't it?
